For those unfamiliar, an unconference is an organic, participant-driven professional development event. We will gather together from 9-9:30AM to brainstorm the key topics that participants would like to cover, and then we\u2019ll break out into three one-hour workshops based on the topics the group generates.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of topics we might engage in together:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing online discussions<\/li>\n<li>Choosing technology tools to support learning<\/li>\n<li>Using the online environment to support learning<\/li>\n<li>Using video and multimedia in your class<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples of technology tools we may discuss as part of the training:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blackboard Basics<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Blackboard topics such as using rubrics or the grade center<\/li>\n<li>Using Atomic Learning in your classes<\/li>\n<li>Conducting a webinar with Collaborate Ultra<\/li>\n<li>Using Kaltura for sharing video in myLesley<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration will be required. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/dyopd-design-your-own-professional-development-tickets-29866977935?aff=utm_source%3Deb_email%26utm_medium%3Demail%26utm_campaign%3Dnew_event_email&amp;utm_term=eventurl_text\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to register<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friday, January 20 9AM &#8211; 12:30PM Join eLIS for a constructivist professional development workshop in an \u201cunconference\u201d model to kick-start your use of technology in instruction for the Spring semester.
