{"id":2741,"date":"2016-08-31T09:58:46","date_gmt":"2016-08-31T14:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/?p=2741"},"modified":"2016-08-31T09:58:46","modified_gmt":"2016-08-31T14:58:46","slug":"fall-technology-bootcamp-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/2016\/08\/31\/fall-technology-bootcamp-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Fall Technology Bootcamp Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Thursday, eLIS\u00a0welcomed over 20 Lesley instructors to our Fall Bootcamp: Teaching and Learning with Technology.\u00a0We covered a wide array of topics, helping participants think about approaches to integrating technology into their teaching as well as practice using some of the available technology tools.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Designing a Blended Experience<\/strong><br \/>\nThis session provided a guiding framework for creating a blended course\u00a0by defining and delineating the two interwoven themes of learning design and technology integration.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2016\/08\/Blended-Learning-Design-August-25.2016-Workshop-PDF.pdf\">Designing Blended Learning Experiences<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Using myLesley (Blackboard)<\/strong><br \/>\nA myLesley (Blackboard) course site is available for all Lesley courses, whether held fully online, face-to-face, or somewhere in between. You may use myLesley to post your syllabus, post resources and readings, communicate with your students, collect and grade assignments and much more. People may\u00a0then be invited to view, comment, and interact with the VoiceThread using any mix of text, audio, and video. In this session we walked through creating and commenting on VoiceThreads.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/lesley.voicethread.com\/share\/409\/\" target=\"_blank\">What is a VoiceThread Anyway?<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2016\/08\/Creating-a-VoiceThread-2016.pdf\">Creating a VoiceThread<br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/support.lesley.edu\/solution\/folders\/4000003046\" target=\"_blank\">Additional VoiceThread Resources<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Adding Video to Your Course with Kaltura Media<\/strong><br \/>\nKaltura Media is the university&#8217;s media sharing platform, allowing users to share video securely within the myLesley course environment.
