In this week\u2019s Agent L episode, Gremlins in the System (GITS) try to undermine student collaboration by breaking links to wikis in myLesley courses. It\u2019s Agent L to the rescue. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Ben\"<\/a>Ben Friday:<\/b> Agent L, it\u2019s a disaster. GITS agent, NeoLuddite, has broken all the links to course wikis in myLesley. Look\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Error: Broken Course Link: Item does not exist in the system. The specified object was not found.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L: <\/b>What does he hope to accomplish? <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/b> NeoLuddite thinks technology is going to ruin education. By corrupting links to the wikis, \u00a0he hopes to stop students from collaborating online. We can\u2019t let him win. <\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L<\/b>: Letting NeoLuddite win is not an option. The wiki links can be fixed. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/b> How? <\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L:<\/b> It\u2019s easy, Ben. We simply delete the old link to the wiki and create a new one. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/b> But won\u2019t that delete the wiki?!?\"agent
\n<\/span>
\nAgent L:<\/b> Not at all. The wiki is still there with all the students\u2019 work. We just need to
\nrecreate the link to allow them to find it again. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/b> How do we do that?<\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L:<\/b> Simple. Let\u2019s go into a course and I\u2019ll show you. <\/span><\/p>\n

First, let\u2019s delete the bad link. Click on the small gray arrow at the end of the wiki title and select <\/span>Delete<\/b> from the menu. <\/span><\/p>\n

Remember, this is only deleting the link, not the wiki.<\/p>\n

Now, we can recreate the link. go to the <\/span>Tools<\/b> menu and select <\/span>Wikis<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Select <\/span>Link to Wiki<\/b> to choose to create a link to an existing wiki and select the name of the wiki from the list. Then click <\/span>Next<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Add a description or instructions for you students and click <\/span>Submit<\/b>. That\u2019s all there is to it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/b> It\u2019s working. I can access the wiki and see everyone\u2019s contributions. It\u2019s all there. <\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L:<\/b> Of course. NeoLuddite can\u2019t get the best of us. We have technology at our disposal. <\/span><\/p>\n
