In this week\u2019s exciting Agent L episode, we outwit Gremlins in the System\u2019s (GITS) fiendish plot to prevent faculty from sharing important course files and resources. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben Friday:<\/strong> Agent L, we have an emergency!!! GITS has struck again. The <\/span>Browse My Computer<\/b> button has been removed from the <\/span>Insert File<\/b> window in the text editor. Faculty can\u2019t upload attachments when creating their content. How are they supposed to share files with their students. <\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L:<\/strong> Calm down, Ben. Show me what you\u2019re talking about. I\u2019m sure we can fix this. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/strong> (takes deep breath) OK. Go to the text editor anywhere in myLesley and click on the <\/span>Insert File<\/b> button. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There should be three buttons including <\/span>Browse My Computer<\/b> which allows faculty and students to attach files from their personal computer, but now there\u2019s only two. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/strong> How are faculty supposed to share their syllabus or study guide or readings or\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L:<\/strong> Wait, Ben. Stop. Let\u2019s take a closer look. What happens if we click on the <\/span>Browse Course<\/b> button? Hmmm\u2026 that appears to let us look through all the files already uploaded to the course. And look, there\u2019s an <\/span>Upload<\/b> option.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/strong> What does it do? <\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L:<\/strong> I think it will let us upload and attach the files we want to share. I\u2019m going to try it.<\/span><\/span>\"upload<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Look I can click on <\/span>Choose File<\/b> and select the file I want to attach from my computer. <\/span><\/p>\n

After l selecting my file, I click <\/span>Submit<\/b> to upload it to the course. \u00a0Then click <\/span>Submit <\/b>again to select it as the file I want to attach. Great, now I can edit the <\/span>Name of the Link to File<\/b> to something more reader friendly than the file name and add <\/span>Alt Text<\/b> for accessibility. Click <\/span>Submit<\/b> one more time<\/span><\/i>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Agent L:<\/strong> Voila! I\u2019ve done it. There\u2019s my file. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben:<\/strong> Amazing work, Agent L. That will teach \u00a0GITS not to mess with us. <\/span><\/p>\n
