Below are a few tricks for getting around more smoothly. To review the meanings of these items click the &#8220;Icon Legend&#8221; button located in the bottom right-hand corner of the main Grade Center view.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/GC_Icons_New.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2077 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"GC_Icons_New\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/GC_Icons_New.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/GC_Icons_New.png 300w, https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/GC_Icons_New-237x300.png 237w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em;\">How-To Organize and Re-Arrange Your Columns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you create new grading columns, <strong>the Grade Center always places them at the end of your view<\/strong>. You can rearrange them based on due date or type of assignment to more easily find the grade column you&#8217;re looking for. This will also assist students in quickly locating their graded work in an orderly fashion.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To reorder your columns, click on <strong>Manage<\/strong> in the toolbar and then <strong>Column Organization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/managemenu.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2034\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"manage menu\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/managemenu.png\" width=\"189\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Your columns will be displayed in rows. Click on the small move icon at the beginning of the row and drag the row to your preferred location. Drag rows that you would like to be frozen above the gray row. These will remain fixed in place at the beginning of the Grade Center as you scroll through the columns. Note: Most faculty find having the student\u2019s name frozen to be very helpful.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/organizecolumns1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2041\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"organize columns\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/organizecolumns1.png\" width=\"412\" height=\"140\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/organizecolumns1.png 572w, https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/organizecolumns1-300x101.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 412px) 100vw, 412px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Hide Columns You Don\u2019t Need<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You probably don\u2019t need the Availability column or the Student ID column. They&#8217;re just taking up valuable visual real estate on your screen. Hide these from your view by clicking on the column menu and selecting Hide Column. <strong>Be aware that this does not hide the column from your students\u2019 view in My Grades.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>To hide a column from your students, select Show\/Hide to Users from the column menu.<\/strong> The column title area will display a dark gray circle with a red bar <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/AVYFO2KImz114esO8Q1je4JLmqaD1U9udLCNYkW9PlymKVGAKdlpYy1IT1I0yCl-bc2b1BKAFPoQFIlK26FzbS2g1D7FTnyvJBV2H5pJ51g1Q5K9wGV-UVOO5XzLQQ\" width=\"16px;\" height=\"16px;\" \/>\u00a0through it to indicate that it is hidden from the class.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/showusers.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2036\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"show hide users\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lesleyelis.com\/elisblog\/files\/2014\/03\/showusers.png\" width=\"256\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Use the Built-in Navigation Tools<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Tired of clicking into an assignment and then back out to the main Grade Center and then into the next student\u2019s assignment over and over again? Use the navigation options at the top of the Grade Details area.
